She has been hurt in the past and has built walls in her mind and heart. She’s a kind girl who doesn’t see the point in senseless violence. She may look weak but has an inner strengh. The wind responds to her emotions so she tries to remain calm. However, if challenged she will not back down. Highly intelligent she has a high IQ of 156. Due to fears and pain in her past she is nervous in large groups of people, but trys not to let the nervousness show. Always looking over her shoulder in case the past should find her. Would like to get to know some new people, but doesn't know how to approch them. Personal Background: Serena, or Sky as her friends call her was born in Kent, England. The day she was born her mother took her outside to see the night sky, so that she would always know where home was by the stars. Since she was a baby she has always been fascinated with the night sky. Her mother knew that Serena was different. She would somehow know things she shouldn’t know. One day when Serena was five she turned to her mother and asked her why daddy drove off of that cliff. Her mother was puzzled by her question and refused to answer. An hour later the phone rang. Serena’s father had fallen asleep while driving home and driven off a cliff to his death. For fear of losing her daughter too, Serena’s mother kept her abilities a secret. The death of her father hit Serena hard, but it hit her mother harder. Her mother didn’t look at Serena anymore and there was always a cold feeling between them. Serena grew up unhappily wishing she could be away from the accusing eyes of her mother. As Serena grew she found that she could see into the near future, and when she looked into the stars she could see further into the future. She learned to control her premonitions by putting up walls in her mind. This way she wasn’t tormented daily by those things she saw but couldn’t change. Some of her premonitions came to her like a voice in her head and some came as pictures. She felt that the Stars were trying to tell her something important. So she learned to read the messages in the stars. Mostly they showed bad omens, death and pain. Tired of all of the hurt she saw in the world she decided to become a nurse. That way she could help ease people’s suffering in a small way. She moved to London to attend University. Distancing herself from her mother, whom she felt thought Serena was responsible in some way for her father’s death. While she was in college she started suffering from sever insomnia. She found it easier to sleep during the day. She was 22 when she got her nursing degree. She started working the graveyard shift at the hospital. That is where she met Gabriel Moon. He was working as a pathologist at the time. He struck her as somewhat mysterious but a nice and friendly guy. The hospital was short staffed at night so they saw a lot of each other, and became friends. They began to spend time together outside of work. Both of them worked the graveyard shift so their schedules worked well. They began to date a few months later. They were inseparable and Serena felt for the first time since her father’s death she was really happy. She stopped reading the stars because she didn’t want to see anything that might mean her happiness would end. Thing lasted that way for about a year. One day while she was over at Gabriel’s house she picked up a shirt that was lying on the ground. At that moment she saw the night sky out the window and a picture flashed through her mind of Gabriel draining the blood from a donation pouch. she demanded that he tell her what he really was. That was when she found out his true nature was a vampire. She discovered then that she really didn’t care, and that she loved him and wanted to be with him forever. He felt the same way about her he said but was afraid she would reject him when she found out his true nature. That night he turned her. It was what she had wanted, to be closer to Gabriel. As she felt her life fading the only thing she could say was, “I love you, Gabriel.” Then the blackness consumed her. When she awoke Gabriel was there holding her in his arms. He taught her how to hunt for her food incase she ever needed to. However, most of their sustenance came from donated blood that they could sneak from the hospital. About a week after her turning she realized that the wind reacted to her emotions. When she was happy it would dance and when she was upset it would blow with greater force. She heard whispers and warnings on the wind and listened to them as she would read the stars. But as another year passed she stopped listening for the same fear that she would hear something terrible. They became closer than ever. Serena felt her happiness would last forever. If only she had listened when the wind blew it’s warnings to her. If only she had seen the stars spelling out their messages of death. One night Gabriel’s past walked through the doors to the hospital. It was his sire who Gabriel thought to be long dead. Dyne, Gabriel’s sire, came looking for Gabriel thinking that he had betrayed him years before. He was vengeful and tormented Gabriel unceasingly. Sending him nightmares of losing Serena before he lost his life. One day Dyne kidnapped Serena to use against Gabriel. He tortured her and sent her pain to Gabriel. She managed to escape from him after a few days. However, the whole experience had shaken Gabriel and he swore that Serena would not suffer again because of him. He left London drawing Dyne after him. A week later she was looking into the stars and saw Gabriel die. A few minutes later she felt a wrenching pain and knew he was gone. That night the wind raged in gale force. Afraid of Dyne and for her life Serena left London and went to find anyone who could help her. She followed the stars where they led her and listened to the wind warn her of dangers. It was in her wanderings that she was found by a scout and brought to Halcyon. After a few months at Halcyon, Serena was at a club one day and Saw Gabriel. Of course she was shocked. She was so sure that she had seen him die. She tried to talk to him but he he didn't show any recognition towards her. Shortly after seeing Gabriel, she also saw her worst nightmare come alive. Dyne was there in the town as well. She fled the club that night. A few weeks later she was kidnapped by Dyne and held in a small room while he . He broke her arm and her pain drug Gabriel out of the mind control Dyne had him under. Gabriel killed dyne and released Serena, and then disappeared. Serena blacked out most of the memories from that time. A short time after that anouther disaster struck. Serena's mother had passed away. She left the school to go to the funeral and to settle her mother's estate. Her mother never having forgiven her for seeing her father's death, wrote Serena out of her will and disowned her. Serena returned to Halcyon once more after that, but upon arriving back realized that the school had taken on a darker quality. Several students and faculty were missing and she didn't like the feelings she was getting there. So with a sad heart she packed up her belongings and left the school for good. After several months of being on her own she came to terms with all that had happened in her past. She decided to go back to Halcyon, now that she could concentrate more on figuring out her vampire life. She found it dark and deserted. Worried for the friends she had had while she was there she started working to track them down. She reconnected with Starbuck who told her about a new school TJS.
